Family Photographer-Vacaville, CA

It is always a pleasure to work with repeat clients. Watching a family grow, and providing them with cherished memories is the best feeling. Here are some of my favorite images from a recent mini session.

Another holiday session here on the blog! I was contacted by a long time high school friend. I was happy to see her for the first time in 12 years, and so delighted to meet and photograph her lovely family! The boys were a little reluctant at first, but once they warmed up to me, we had an awesome shoot : ) Here are my favorite images:

The holidays are upon us, and there is nothing like admiring the beautiful scenery that the snow creates around Christmas time : ) My husband and I enjoyed a quick trip to Tahoe just recently. The snow was so beautiful! I took a few fun shots and wanted to share.

It's Raining, it's Pouring!!!

Yes, actually it WAS raining during this session!!! I suggested that we reschedule, but this family really wanted to get their photos done just in time for Christmas. We shot mostly underneath a beautiful gazebo, then we captured a few shots under the umbrella. This shoot came out really nice, despite the cold rainy weather : )

Instagram: What's all the hype about?

Many of you may be quite familiar with the extremely popular iPhone and Android app called Instagram. It really is one of my most favorite apps!

For those of you that may not be familiar with this app, it is a social networking tool, and a creative and fun way to share photos of everyday life. Examples might include traditional photos, to candid photos, or random everyday objects.

I have seen photos of sunsets, shoes, feet, children, puppies, rainbows, coffee cups, food, oceans, historic landmarks, and many more. The sky's the limit!! The part that I like the most, is that the images may be totally random at times, but it really does represent a person's lifestyle, interests, and what's most important to them.

The images that have been created as a result of Instagram really do tell many stories. These stories will definitely go down in history, and will represent what we wore, what we ate, what we saw, where our lives led us, how we felt about our surroundings, and the things that we cherished the most. In a nutshell, Instagram has allowed individuals to document their lives creatively, and honestly, which is a big change from the photos that our parents and grandparents might have shared with us back in the day.

Most importantly, as a photographer, I found that Instagram, along with my iphone,  has allowed me to capture things creatively without having to pull out my large DSLR camera. The Instagram filters that I can apply to my images really do allow me to add an artistic spin to my images. You certainly don't have to be a photographer to get wonderful results! I also like to use other apps for photo editing, which is so much easier and faster than uploading the photos to my computer and tweaking them in photoshop!

For those of you that may be interested, here are some of my most favorite apps:

  • VSCO CAM
  • moreBeaute2
  • Text on Photo
  • Roundgraphy
  • Squaredy
  • Iris
  • Perfectly Clear
  • HDR FX Pro
  • Retouch
  • Snapseed
  • Instacollage
  • Hipstamatic
  • ShakeItPhoto
  • Vintique

With that being said, I wanted to share some of my favorite Instagram images, all taken in 2012. All of these images were taken with an Android or iPhone. Believe it or not, that little phone in your pocket has ALOT of potential!

So I challenge you! Jump on the bandwagon, get to Instagraming, and create some fun memories that I am sure you will cherish for years to come!

As a photographer, I enjoy encouraging EVERYONE to make their own special memories : )

Child Photographer- Fairfield, CA

Unfortunately the life of a busy mom doesn't leave much time for blogging.  I decided to get my kids dressed up for fall photos a couple of months back, and failed to post these adorable photos! As a family photographer, sometimes I neglect to take photos of my own family, but I am definitely working on it : )

I took these photos at a local vineyard by the way. It is definitely one of my favorite locations! It is just such a beautiful location!

More updates to follow over the next few weeks! Family holiday photos are in the works, along with some personal projects that I hope to achieve : )
