For those of you that may not be familiar with this app, it is a social networking tool, and a creative and fun way to share photos of everyday life. Examples might include traditional photos, to candid photos, or random everyday objects.
I have seen photos of sunsets, shoes, feet, children, puppies, rainbows, coffee cups, food, oceans, historic landmarks, and many more. The sky's the limit!! The part that I like the most, is that the images may be totally random at times, but it really does represent a person's lifestyle, interests, and what's most important to them.
The images that have been created as a result of Instagram really do tell many stories. These stories will definitely go down in history, and will represent what we wore, what we ate, what we saw, where our lives led us, how we felt about our surroundings, and the things that we cherished the most. In a nutshell, Instagram has allowed individuals to document their lives creatively, and honestly, which is a big change from the photos that our parents and grandparents might have shared with us back in the day.
Most importantly, as a photographer, I found that Instagram, along with my iphone, has allowed me to capture things creatively without having to pull out my large DSLR camera. The Instagram filters that I can apply to my images really do allow me to add an artistic spin to my images. You certainly don't have to be a photographer to get wonderful results! I also like to use other apps for photo editing, which is so much easier and faster than uploading the photos to my computer and tweaking them in photoshop!
For those of you that may be interested, here are some of my most favorite apps:

With that being said, I wanted to share some of my favorite Instagram images, all taken in 2012. All of these images were taken with an Android or iPhone. Believe it or not, that little phone in your pocket has ALOT of potential!
So I challenge you! Jump on the bandwagon, get to Instagraming, and create some fun memories that I am sure you will cherish for years to come!
As a photographer, I enjoy encouraging EVERYONE to make their own special memories : )
